"Life is always a beautiful journey, not a race." Here's to all the readers about my life as a Yogi. I'm Akshita, a yoga enthusiast. I've been into the field of yoga since the age of 3. I've won almost 20-25 competitions including 4 nationals where I had received the 'Champion of Champions' trophy in the year 2012 & 2014 as well. I took a break from yoga between the year 2014-15 due to a bitter  moment in a competition in which they refused to select me for the final round because of politics. Politics in sports was too high in that period of time. I did not have enough maturity to understand the situation and out of rage and confusion, I decided not to practice yoga ever in my life again. That was the most painful year in my whole life. Then after a long gap I gave a shot to an inter-school yoga competition conducted by a neighbouring school. My heart was filled with aplomb while I was performing. But unfortunately, I was not awarded. I returned to school with grief and pain. But the astonishing part was, even after my fiasco, everyone in my school recognised me as a Yoga Champion. Little did they look upon my failure, but more on my success. This boosted my confidence and I decided to start my yoga career all over again.

From then, I participated and won in the SGFI (School Games Federation of India) yoga in the under 19 girls category for the 2 consecutive years. The 2018's competition was held at Hyderabad & Delhi and the 2019's competition was held at Ranchi and Calcutta. This was the biggest breakthrough in my yoga career. Apart from competitions, I also got a recognition in the media. On 19th November, 2019, a small part of my yoga demonstration with an interview was telecasted in Sun TV, a popular Indian television channel. It gained me a lot of appreciations from all my friends, colleagues and family members.

After a lot of failures I considered this as my first step towards ultimate success. I took an oath to practice yoga everyday and shine in the respective field. I understood that “Success in life is not for those who run fast, but for those who keep running and always on the move.” (a quote by Bangambiki Habyarimana).
